Sizes, colors and stock
Each item can offer one list of choices, like sizes S to 2XL, a color, or a height for a gown, and each choice can have its own stock and its own price change, so a 2XL can cost a few dollars more. A size sells out on its own, and the item sells out when every choice has.
Checkout counts stock again before it charges, so two buyers can’t get the last medium. Items can be listed under headings, like Apparel and Gifts, on one page for a whole spirit store.
Names to print
An item can ask for a short text on each unit, like a name for the sleeve or the cover, with the length you set and whether it’s required. Buyers type one for each shirt they order, and it’s printed exactly as they typed it.
The merchandise download lists every unit on its own row, with its size and the name to print, ready for your printer or the bookstore. Your editors and admins see the names; viewers on your team and the door app never do.
Regalia, yearbooks and class gear
Start from a template. Cap and gown sells bachelor’s and master’s regalia sized by height, with stoles, keepsake tassels and diploma frames, and asks for the student ID so orders match the graduation list. Commencement guest tickets can sit beside it in your college’s directory of events.
Class apparel sells a sweatshirt in every size with the buyer’s name printed on it. Yearbook takes preorders with a name on the cover, and senior recognition ads in three sizes for families. Spirit store lists hoodies, tees, caps, mugs and decals under headings.
Pickup, shipping and sales tax
Offer pickup with your own instructions, shipping for one flat fee per order to US addresses, or both and let the buyer choose. Shipping asks for the address at checkout, and your team sees it on the order.
Sales tax is one rate you set, with your own label, on the items you mark taxable, and on shipping if you choose. TicketTuck never looks a rate up by address, so you charge the rate your college uses. Staff taking an order over the phone can mark it tax-exempt, with a reason.
Swaps
Staff can swap a size after purchase. The buyer is emailed what changed, and a cheaper choice refunds the difference.
Refunds
Refund one unit or a whole order, and shipping and tax are given back in the right parts.
A gift on top
Buyers can add a gift to the class fund, which can post under its own GL code and fund, apart from the sale.
The books
The finance export posts shipping and sales tax collected on their own lines, with tax under its own GL code if you give it one.
Questions
Can buyers pick sizes and add a name to print?
Yes. Each item can offer sizes or another list of choices, each with its own stock, and ask for a short text on each unit, like a name for the sleeve. Buyers choose a size and type a name for every unit they order.
Do you keep stock for each size?
Yes. Each choice can have its own stock. A size sells out when its stock is gone, and checkout counts stock again before it charges, so the last one sells only once.
Can items be picked up or shipped?
Both. Offer pickup with your own instructions, shipping for one flat fee per order to US addresses, or both and let the buyer choose.
How is sales tax charged?
At one rate you set, on the items you mark taxable, and on shipping if you choose. TicketTuck doesn’t look rates up by address. Staff can mark a phone order tax-exempt with a reason.
How do we get the names to our printer?
Download the merchandise file for the page: every unit is on its own row with its size and the name to print.
